Medical Leave
A student must attain 70% attendance with his/ her physical presence on the campus. In case of hospitalisation, Students should produce proper medical documents on the date specified by the office and meet the Principal for approval. It is at the discretion of the Principal to permit the student to write the Mid-Term Examination but not the University examinations. The medical documents shall be certified by the doctor with a prescription signed by the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital, and a discharge summary, stating that they were admitted to the hospital for a particular disease with the dates and number of days admitted.
Gate Pass
Gate pass shall only be processed sparingly when it is an absolute necessity to take a student to the hospital. In such situations, the first step is to approach and get approval in writing from the in-campus nurse who shall verify the necessity of providing a gate pass by contacting the parents. Whereas, in situations of extreme medical emergency, the above steps may be bypassed (due to paucity of time) and the student will be eligible to get the Gate pass as per permission from the Principal. As a rule Gate pass is processed only in medical situations and hence students are discouraged from approaching for the same except in personal emergencies (such as the death of near one/ accident cases) or situations of dire necessity. In such situations, a student must approach the nurse who shall verify the necessity of providing a gate pass by contacting the parents. The student must provide the correct contact details of parents (if incorrect details are provided, strict disciplinary action ensues). Only if parents also acknowledge letting the student outside the campus, the nurse sign the request letter. In the last step, the letter countersigned by the nurse shall be submitted before the Principal for approval. The approved letter shall be submitted to the office to issue the gate pass.
