Christ Academy Institute of LAW (CAIL)
The Christ academy institute of law (CAIL) Constitutional Law Committee was established in the year 2021 to encourage and promote understanding of contemporary constitutional judgements and foundational aspects of the constitution. This committee was created to foster a culture of comprehension of the law arising from and revolving around constitutional law through discussions and written works, and to distribute it to society.
India is a diverse country with many different cultures, languages, scripts, dialects, religions, and customs. India is the perfect example of harmony in diversity. The Indian Constitution, which accurately reflects the wishes of “We The People,” serves as the unifying factor in our country’s diversity. The Constituent Assembly, which included people from diverse backgrounds, is responsible for creating the Indian Constitution. Consequently, the Indian Constitution is genuinely “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
However, comprehension of the Constitution can only be attained through extensive reading and careful consideration of the nuances of the legislation. With this objective, the CAIL Constitutional Law Committee has been constituted to provide an opportunity to the young scholars to develop an analytical and critical knowledge on various issues on constitutional design, interpretation and adjudication. The committee aims to undertake several activities to create constitutional awareness, such as Guest lectures by constitutional experts, panel discussion on a contemporary judgement of the Supreme court and High court of India by students, Constitutional Law Quizzes, Model parliament and Judgements writing competitions.
