Legal Awareness Program – Nyaya Shradha
INTRA-COLLEGIATE MEDIATION COMPETITION – MAY 5, 2025
On May 5, 2025, the CAIL Mediation Committee will host the third Intra-Collegiate Mediation Competition. The event aims to promote awareness of mediation as an effective and peaceful dispute-resolution method while providing law students an opportunity to showcase their mediation skills.
Participation is mandatory for 1st to 4th-year students to encourage interest in honing negotiation and communication abilities, as well as deepening their understanding of mediation procedures. Participants will assume the role of mediators, working to resolve a simulated dispute in a realistic setting. The competition will allow students to demonstrate key skills such as impartiality, creative problem-solving, and active listening.

Christ Academy Institute of Law is proud to present Nyaya Shradha, a legal awareness program focusing on the critical issues of Domestic Violence and Alcohol Abuse. As part of our commitment to community engagement and social justice, this initiative is designed to educate and empower the residents of Sakalavara Village through legal knowledge and awareness.
Intra-Collegiate Debating Competition
The Intra-Collegiate Debating Competition is being organised by the Human Rights Cell & CAIL Debating Society, commemorating the 135th Ambedkar Jayanti on 11.04.2025 from 9.30 AM to 12.30 AM. The competition aims to foster critical thinking, articulate expression, and informed discourse on social justice and human rights issues, inspired by the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
INDUCTION PROGRAM ON PREPARATION FOR JUDICIAL SERVICES
Christ Academy Institute of Law, through its Judicial Service Committee,successfully hosted the Induction Program on Preparation for Judicial Services in association with Unacademy. The session featured enlightening discussions by Abhishek Bhatt, Associate Educator at Unacademy, and Chithralekha Nair, the first rank holder of the Kerala Judicial Service Examination 2024. Their insights provided invaluable guidance to students aspiring for a career in the judiciary. Held on 27th February 2025, the session witnessed enthusiastic participation, marking a significant milestone in judicial service preparation at CAIL.

The Constitutional Committee of Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru, will host itsfirst-ever Intra Model United Nations on April 16, 2025. This pioneering event aims to fosterdiplomatic skills, critical thinking and global awareness among law students while providinga platform to debate contemporary international issues through structured committee simulations. The event’s purpose is to cultivate negotiation abilities, public speaking confidence and research skills essential for legal professionals. The Gender Sensitization Committee successfully organized an online workshop titled “Implementing Gender Justice Through Law” on 17 March 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for final-year BA/BBA/BCom LL.B. students. The session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Saumya Uma, Professor and Director of the Centre for Women’s Rights at Jindal Global Law School. The workshop aimed to promote awareness and legal understanding to advance gender justice and equality. Prof. Uma highlighted the role of statutory laws and gender perspectives in strengthening legal frameworks for greater inclusivity and fairness. Participants gained essential legal knowledge to effectively prevent and address gender-based issues.

INTRA-COLLEGIATE DEBATE COMPETITION – 2025
In honor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 135th Jayanti, the Human Rights Cell CAIL, in collaboration with the CAIL Debating Society, organized an Intra-Collegiate Debate Competition on April 11, 2025. The theme was: “Is caste-based reservation outdated, or is it an eternal solution to rectify historical injustice?”
Out of 18 participants in the preliminary round, six advanced to the finals. Mr. Joyal K Joseph was adjudged the winner of the competition. Students presented compelling legal and societal arguments, intensifying the debate.
Following both rounds, the judges held a feedback session, commending the speakers for their balanced perspectives. They acknowledged the challenges of maintaining caste distinctions while striving for social justice. The critique focused on improving evidence-based arguments, clarity of expression, and emotional control during rebuttals

The 1st Intra Collegiate Client- Counselling Competition is being organised by the Centre for Practical Advocacy Training for the students of 3rd, 4th and 5th year BA LLB/ BBA LLB/ BCOM LLB batches on 07.04.2025 from 10:00 am to 01:30 pm. This competition is designed to enhance law students’ understanding of the practical dimensions of legal practice, with a particular focus on client interaction, advisory functions, and preventive lawyering; and provides a dynamic platform for participants to develop and refine crucial skills such as interviewing, active listening, problem identification, legal analysis, and strategic planning—core competencies essential for any practicing lawyer.

On March 14, 2025, the Centre for Promotion of Kannada Legal Literature and Sustainable Villages hosted an enlightening program at Chavara Hall, Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru. The event featured a captivating lecture by Sri. Ka Ta Chikkanna on the Importance of Translating Kannada Legal Literature, highlighting its significance in making legal knowledge accessible to all.
