CENTER FOR LAW AND ENVIRONMENT

Christ Academy Institute of Law is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all its students, faculty, and staff. The Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell (ASHC) has been constituted in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

The primary objective of the Cell is to prevent any form of sexual harassment on campus and to address grievances in a timely, confidential, and sensitive manner. The Cell conducts awareness programs, workshops, and sensitization sessions to promote gender equality and ensure a respectful and secure atmosphere within the institution.

The Cell provides a platform for individuals to report incidents of harassment, and ensures that appropriate action is taken following a fair and impartial inquiry.

On 20th March 2025, Christ Academy Institute of Law organized a distinguished event titled “International Energy Policy and Climate Change”, focusing on one of the most urgent global challenges of our time. The event served as an academic platform to explore the intersection of energy policy, environmental sustainability, and international legal frameworks.

Eminent speakers from the fields of environmental law, international relations, and energy governance shared their insights on the evolving global energy landscape and its impact on climate change mitigation. Discussions revolved around the role of international agreements, national policy responses, and the legal obligations of states in addressing the climate crisis.

The event highlighted the critical importance of transitioning to sustainable energy systems and the legal mechanisms required to support this shift. Students and faculty actively participated in interactive sessions, gaining valuable perspectives on global climate governance and legal strategies for sustainable development.

This initiative reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to fostering environmental awareness and promoting legal scholarship in the field of climate justice.
