B.B.A. LL.B, B.A. LL.B, and B.Com. LL.B – Integrated Double Degree Courses

The B.B.A. LL.B integrated double degree course combines the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with the Bachelor’s degree in Law. The B.A. LL.B integrated double degree course combines the Bachelor’s degree in Arts with the Bachelor’s degree in Law. Similarly, the B.Com. LL.B integrated double degree course integrates the Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with the Bachelor’s degree in Law.

  • The duration of the B.A. LL.B, B.B.A. LL.B, and B.Com. LL.B courses shall be five academic years, comprising ten semesters.

  • Each academic year is divided into two semesters.

  • Each semester shall consist of six months, including 18 weeks of instruction.

  • Each subject shall have 90 hours of teaching per semester.

  • This will be followed by an internship and vacation period.

Medium of Instruction

  • The medium of instruction for the five-year B.B.A. LL.B degree course is English.

  • Examinees shall write their examination answers in English.

Award of the Degree

A student shall be eligible for the award of the B.B.A. LL.B, B.A. LL.B, or B.Com.LL.B degree upon successful completion of all prescribed courses in all ten semesters, provided their character and conduct have been found satisfactory during the course of study.

Award of Classes

The classification of results shall be as follows:

  • First Class with Distinction: 70% and above

  • First Class: 60% and above but less than 70%

  • Second Class: 50% and above but less than 60%

  • Pass Class: 40% and above but less than 50%

EXAMINATION RULES

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS

All students are expected to read the instructions given below and must strictly adhere to them during the MID-TERM EXAMINATION / UNIT TEST / PRE-FINAL (Internal) and END SEMESTER EXAMINATION (External).


EXAMINATION PATTERN FOR 2024 BATCH ONWARDS

(100 Marks Pattern)

  • 100 Marks for External Examination

  • 4 Internal Assessments

  1. From the batch of 2024 onwards, the KSLU end-semester examination will follow a 100-mark pattern for the 5-year BA LLB, BBA LLB, and BCom LLB programs.
    Although internal marks are not added to the final KSLU examination result, the college conducts continuous internal evaluations throughout the semester to support and improve student performance in the external exams.

  2. Students will undergo 4 internal assessments each semester:

    • UNIT TEST-1

    • UNIT TEST-2

    • PRE-FINALS

    • Assignment Submission

  3. Unit Test-1 will be conducted after the completion of 2 units, approximately 1.5 months from the commencement of the semester.
    Unit Test-2 will be held after completing 4 units, approximately 1.5 months from the date of Unit Test-1.

  4. The Pre-Final Examination will be conducted after the completion of the entire syllabus, approximately 10 days before the last instruction day of the semester.


QUESTION PAPER PATTERN FOR 2024 BATCH ONWARDS

(100 Marks Pattern)

  • Unit Test-1 and Unit Test-2

    • Maximum Marks: 30

    • Duration: 1 Hour (7:30 – 8:30 AM)

    • Pattern:

      • 2 Long Answer Questions (Attempt any 2 out of 3) – 12 marks each (5 pages)

      • 1 Short Note Question (Mandatory) – 6 marks (3 pages)

  • Pre-Final Examination

    • Maximum Marks: 100

    • Duration: 3 Hours

    • Pattern:

      • 5 Long Answer Questions – 12 marks each (5 pages)

      • 5 Short Note Questions – 8 marks each (3 pages)


EXAMINATION PATTERN FOR 2018 TO 2023 BATCHES

(80-20 Pattern)

  • 80 Marks for External Examination

  • 20 Marks for Internal Assessment

The Mid-Term and End Semester Examination will be conducted for all semesters of the 5-Year BA LLB, BBA LLB, and BCom LLB programs for the 2018 to 2023 batches as per this 80-20 evaluation pattern.

EXAMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

A. INTERNAL EXAMINATION GUIDELINES

  1. KSLU End Semester Examination will be conducted for 80 marks. The remaining 20 marks are allotted to Internal Assessment, divided as follows:

    • Mid-Term Examination: 40 marks (converted to 10 marks)

    • Written Assignment & Presentation: 10 marks

  2. Students must use the Green Book for the Mid-Term Examination, which can be purchased from Rosa Stores.

  3. Every eligible student must compulsorily attend the Mid-Term Examination as it is a part of Internal Evaluation.

  4. Students must carry their Hall Ticket and ID Card to the Mid-Term Examination.

    • Without these, students will not be allowed to write the exam.

    • A duplicate Hall Ticket will be issued only upon payment of Rs. 200 to the Accounts Department with the approval of the COE.

  5. The examination will be held as per the date sheet published by the Examination Committee.
    Students must report to their allotted room 20 minutes in advance.

  6. Time Duration of the Mid-Term Examination: 1 hour 45 minutes

  7. All students must remain in the examination hall for at least 1 hour after the start of the exam.

    • No student is allowed to leave the hall, go to the washroom, or move from their seat during this period.

    • No student is allowed to leave the hall during the last 15 minutes of the examination.

  8. Permitted items:

    • ID Card

    • Hall Ticket

    • Stationery

    • Hand Sanitizer

    • Water Bottle

    Borrowing of any items is strictly prohibited.

  9. Students must confirm their seating and examination hall details from the seating allotment list before entering the examination hall.

  10. Students must fill in the front page of the answer script as per the instructions given in the booklet.

  11. Submission of the answer book is mandatory; no student is allowed to leave without submitting their script.

  12. All students must sign the attendance sheet administered by the invigilator during the exam.


B. MID-TERM QUESTION PAPER PATTERN

  1. The Mid-Term Examination will be for 40 marks.

  2. It will follow the KSLU end-semester examination format.

  3. Answer length requirements:

  • Essay-type questions: Minimum 5–6 pages (Approx. 22 minutes per question)

  • Short-note questions: Minimum 2–3 pages (Approx. 13 minutes per question)

  1. Passing marks for the Mid-Term Exam: 16 out of 40


C. REQUIREMENTS FOR EXTERNAL EXAMINATION

  1. Students must secure a minimum of 40% marks in both External and Internal exams.

  2. Minimum required scores:

  • 32 out of 80 in the External exam

  • 08 out of 20 in the Internal assessment (recommended for safety)

  1. For Provisional Registration, a student must secure 60% aggregate.
    To appear for the University Examination, students must have a minimum of 70% attendance in that semester.

  2. All students must clear all papers in the BA LLB, BBA LLB, and BCom LLB programs within 7 years from the year of admission.
