About
CENTRE FOR TRIBAL SOCIO-LEGAL RESEARCH
The Centre for Tribal Socio-Legal Research at Christ Academy Institute of Law is dedicated to the study and promotion of tribal rights, culture, and legal issues affecting indigenous communities in India. The Centre conducts interdisciplinary research focusing on the intersection of law, society, and tribal identity, with an emphasis on constitutional protections, land rights, customary practices, and access to justice. It aims to highlight the unique legal challenges faced by tribal communities and advocate for inclusive policy reforms.
Through fieldwork, legal aid initiatives, awareness programs, and academic publications, the Centre seeks to empower tribal populations and create platforms for dialogue between tribal communities and legal institutions. It also serves as a resource hub for students and scholars interested in tribal studies, contributing to socially responsive legal education and a deeper understanding of India’s plural legal landscape.
