INSPIRATION
Guided by India’s core constitutional values to deliver socially
engaged legal education, meeting the highest global academic
and professional standards, and to directly engage with social
challenges, evaluating and responding, in particular to the legal
dimensions of globalization and its impact to foster a legal and
justice system, that effectively meet the needs of the common
people in India.
CAIL is to be a leading-edge center of global excellence in legal
education, research and policy analysis, catalyzing, through its
graduates and its innovative ideas, legal reforms necessary to
effectively serve the needs of the common people in India.
St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of Carmelites of Mary
Immaculate (CMI), is our source of inspiration and challenge in
taking up this noble endeavor of providing quality education
to the citizens of our country irrespective of caste, creed or
religion. St. Chavara was a great educationist who brought about
revolutionary changes in the society through his far-sighted
vision and creative mission in the 19th century.
