Student Grievance Redressal Committee

The Student Grievance Redressal Committee of CAIL is constituted on compliance with the UGC (Grievance Redressal of Students) Regulation, 2018. The Committee aims to address and prevent student grievances within the institution with high level of accountability and responsiveness. The mandate of the committee extends to the grievances listed in the UGC Regulation 2018 and other possible frictions that are beyond the purview of other mandatory committees or offices functioning at the institutional level.

Mode of functioning

1. An aggrieved student may submit his/her grievance in writing, addressed to the committee either in person or to the official email address of the committee or by filling the grievance form available in CAIL website. The complaints when initiated through e-mails shall be from the institutional email address of the aggrieved student. The details of the aggrieved shall be well furnished in the letter regardless of the mode of submission.
2. Collective petitions can also be made to the Committee through class representatives or the Student Bar Association through their respective email addresses.
3. Other common grievances of informal nature may be submitted to the committee through a petition in writing with the details and signature of all aggrieved students through a representative of their choice among themselves.
4. Students who wish to maintain their anonymity shall place the petitions in the Grievance boxes made available in the institution.
5. The Committee will register the petitions in its register. Based on the nature of the grievance and the operational limits of the Committee, the issues will be expediently addressed.
6. The decisions of the Committee are appealable as per the UGC (Grievance Redressal of Students) Regulations, 2018.
