Constitution


Student Grievance Redressal Committee at Christ Academy Institute of Law is constituted in
compliance with the University Gants Commission (Grievance Redressal of Students)
Regulation, 2018. The committee is constituted under the Chairmanship of the Principal of the
institute and is the formal functional unit of Student Grievance Redressal mechanism at the
institute level. The Committee, in line with the UGC guidelines, would attend to grievance
redressal of student or students, on the activities within the institute which do not come under
the purview of other mandatory committees or offices functioning at the institutional level. It is
constituted with an intention to provide a responsive, accountable attitude and harmonious
educational atmosphere within the campus.
The committee is reconstituted on 17-09-2021 as ‘Student Grievance Redressal committee’.

Mode of functioning
 

1. An aggrieved student of the institute shall submit his/her petition in writing, addressed to
the committee, either in person or through the official email address of the committee or
through the online portal available for the purpose. The correspondence must be made from
the institutional email address of the aggrieved. The details of the petitioner and signature
should be well furnished in the letter regardless of the mode of submission.
2. In case of collective petitions of a formal group of students, the class representative or the
student representative body shall submit their grievances in writing, addressed to the
committee, either in person or through the email address of the committee. The
correspondence must be made from the institutional email address of the aggrieved. The

details of the representative with signature should be well furnished in the letter regardless
of the mode of submission.
3. In case of common grievances concerning an informal group of students, they shall submit
their petition, in writing, addressed to the committee, with the details and signature of all
the aggrieved students through a representative to the committee.
4. The petitions placed to the committee must be clear in the description of the case and
unambiguous in its content.
5. In general concerns, the student who wishes to maintain anonymity, shall place their
petitions in the ‘Grievance Box’ placed at different sections of the institute.
6. The committee will record the petitions in the register maintained with it and it, based on the
nature of the issue and scope of the committee will attend to the issues at the earliest.
7. For an appeal to the decision of the committee, follow the UGC (Grievance Redressal of
Students) Regulations, 2018.
