HOSTEL FACILITY AND RULES

Christ Academy strives to offer you a welcoming environment so that your accommodations instantly feel like home. We offer rooms with a view to providing students the comfort of the company as they settle into their college and course. We also give the opportunity to make friends and get acquainted with the campus and its facilities.

Facilities provided by the Hostel:

  • 1. Furniture: Cot, Study table, Chair, Cupboard.
  • 2. Study Hall: A Common study hall for effective group or individual study
  • 3. Library: College library services are available to students from 7 am to 7 pm.
  • 4. ATM: A cashpoint machine is available inside the campus.
  • 5. 24 hours power back up and hot water facility and water Purifier.
  • 6. A mess facility is also available in the campus.
  • 7. Gym & Indoor Games: Students spend most of their time in library, classrooms, and study halls. It is essential to break away from sedentary activities and focus on fitness and health. Here within our campus premises students have access to a well-equipped gym. A game center equipped with table tennis, chess, and carom boards is also accessible to students when they need a break from academic pursuits. The facility of gym and sports can be accessed on payment only.
  • 8. Security: The security of our students is of the utmost importance. Access to the hostel is via the use of a biometric system only. Security personnel are stationed at the hostel 24/7 to ensure safety.

Hostel Rules and Regulations

  • 1. Hostel Accommodation will be given to the students on academic merit basis. Preference will be given to those students whose parents are not staying in Bengaluru. However, Hostel facility will be withdrawn for hostlers with poor academics, shortage of attendance & any discipline issue during the stay.
  • 2. In case of serious illness or contagious diseases a student may be asked to leave the hostel to stay with the Local Guardians/Residence.
  • 3. Hostel students should be as economical as possible in the use of water and electricity. Students should switch off the light and fan when not in use.
  • 4. Students will be held responsible for the damage to the room property (i.e.) fan, furniture, fittings and fixtures etc. provided. In all such cases the students will have to pay the cost of such damages which will be deducted from the deposit as fixed by the hostel in-charge/ administration in addition to expulsion from hostel.
  • 5. The warden has the authority over the hostel premise to control the students in the matter of accommodation, discipline and general conduct and he /she will enforce the rules laid down in these matters from time to time as required.
  • 6. No day -scholars, women/men, visitors/guests will be allowed to pay visits to the hostel without prior permission of the Warden. Any students found to violate these rules will be expelled from the hostel immediately on the spot by Warden or Director without notice
  • 7. Students are not allowed to stay in the rooms during college hours. Permission to be obtained in writing from the Warden for any reasons to stay back in the hostel during college.
  • 8. Visitors to the hostel inmates will be required to enter their names and address and the name of the student whom they want to see etc. in the register kept with the duty security guard at the Institute entrance. They will not be permitted to enter the Students rooms in the hostels except the visitors room.
  • 9. Tampering with electrical wiring or fixing any electrical lightings or other fittings in rooms and common areas will be viewed very seriously and those involved will be expelled from the hostel without notice and penalty also le viable.
  • 10. Students are not permitted to use any other electrical equipment other than the ones provided by the management of loudspeakers.
  • 11. Students are not permitted to use music system with loudspeakers. If found, they will be impounded by Warden, However, they are permitted to use earphones
  • 12. Students crossing the main gate for any purpose should make an entry in the "IN and OUT register available at the security office with ID Card. Students are not permitted to stick posters on the hostel walls
  • 13. Students are not permitted to break open their room lock or cupboard and cause damage for the hostel property. Only maintenance staff are permitted to take remedial measures in case of loss of key. An additional amount needs to be paid to obtain keys which are lost or will be adjusted against the deposited amount
  • 14. Students are not allowed for a night out stay. Note, it one day prior permission was sought with parents! Local Guardian, such facilities will be granted and approved by the warden.
  • 15. Hostlers are not permitted to go out during working days without prior permission from Warden or Staff in charge. Only on holidays you are permitted to go but after 7.00 a.m. and should return before 7.00 p.m.
  • 16.Students are not permitted to keep costly articles/ jewellery/ excessive cash with them. The institute will not be responsible for their loss, theft or missing items.
  • 17.Rooms must be vacated immediately after the institution closes for semester vacation as the rooms will be used for maintenance / conferences. Rooms should be maintained in a clean and tidy condition and open for inspection at all times, Students cannot claim to stay in the hostel during vacation period. Permission may be given for such a stay in any special case by the Principal / Warden on the written request of the student.
  • 18.Ragging/Harassment /Quarrels / Misbehavior/ Speech Embarrassment in the hostels will be viewed very seriously. Hence it is advised to abstain from all anti-social activities. Ragging is strictly banned by order of honourable Supreme Court. Police case will be registered against the culprits. Institute will hand over those indulge in ragging to the police after preliminary enquiry by the anti-ragging committee. Hence all the Parents and Guardians of hostel students are advised to make note of it and advice their wards do not indulge in ragging in any form as classified under Anti ragging act of Govt. of Karnataka. The Institute will not take any responsibility for any police action based on the above act within the campus or outside the campus.
  • 19. Consumption of alcohol, drugs and smoking is strictly prohibited. if anyone found indulging in such activities will be expelled immediately from hostel without notice.
  • 20. In order to create a sense of unity, speaking in any language other than English in campus is prohibited.
  • 21. Student should follow decent dress code at all the times.
  • 22. It is compulsory for all the students in the hostel to have their meals in the dining hall itself and no food should be taken into the rooms.
  • 23. Food will not be provided in the Hostel. Students need to avail food in the Canteen premises.
  • 24. Refundable deposit will be paid back post any maintenance deductions.
  • 25. Students need to renew Hostel admission every academic year to continue their stay in the Hostel. Hostel Administrators will give approval considering their academic performance & discipline.
  • 26. Students will not be allowed to vacate the hostel without completing the exit formalities and settlement of any pending dues.
